Movies and Politics

After a bit of a sabatical, I have decided to resume my efforts to provide any insights I can offer with regard to movies....I really do see a lot of them....and politics....I am really involved in it. I will make every attempt not to dissapoint and I hope you will find this blog to be both entertaining and informative.

BUT FIRST: I am generally not one to get flu shots, but this year it seems that we are facing a most dangerous FLU..... the Boston area is reporting a major outbreak and even some deaths. I encourage everyone to get a flu shot this year. Don't take any chances ....even if it makes you sick....get it anyway. Rather hear about you being sick than you being the big D.

The most recent movies I have seen include:

LINCOLN: A rare and penetrating film that takes you right back to the period just before the end of the Civil War. Spielberg takes a painting of inside the doors of the Congress in the late Seventeen hundreds and brings it to life through brilliant lighting, staging, obviously wardrobe, sets and a cast of very fine actors that captivate you with their acting skills and script interpretation which I have not seen in a very very long time. It is an American Story and at the same time American History come to life that makes you want to know more about Lincoln, the Civil War, Slavery, the North against the South...and more.

Let it be known that it was the Republican Party that engineered the Emancipation Proclamation that freed the Slaves....not the Democratic Party. This is a must, must see and should be part and parcel of all history courses in High School and College.


ARGO: Here is a film skillfully crafted by Ben Affleck utilizing the technique of timing and lack of time to create suspense, scene after scene to keep you, the viewer, at the edge of your seat from the beginning to the end. The story of the six embassy people who managed to escape Iran with the help of the Canadian Embassy was a story that was, for all intents and purposes, lost in the memories of most Americans. Kudos to Affleck for ressurecting this most important story and presenting it with tenacity, perfectly cast actors, great cinematography, a believable script encased with a thin patriotic veil that pulls it all together and leaves you breathless and thankful. Go see it.....it's a perfect night out when coupled with a nice dinner at a local Chinese Restaurant.

SILVER LINING PLAYBOOK: Real and thoughtful with emotional highs and lows, the heroes of this film will draw you into the electromagnetic forces between them and Jennifer Lawrence's and Bradley Cooper's performances will keep you mesmerized throughout. What a great film about life and love and the abundant rewards that truth and trust will provide. This is the kind of film that you want to see again to make sure you didn't miss anything.

SKYFALL: Having seen all the Bond Movies, in my estimation Daniel Craig is perhaps the best James Bond ever, second only to Sean Connery. As is typical with a Bond movie, this one opens with action, courage and bravado but in a pragmatic way and then spins a web of involvement with the story line that keeps you enthralled with Bond, M-1 and especially Javier Bardem. Par for the course we are taken to different parts of the world to visual delight and a craving for more. I think one of the best Bond movies and most certainly one that I will see over and over again.

Islam and You

Once again I find myself returning to my blog site to vent about today's current affairs and the level of anger and agita it is causing me and my associates. Yes, of course, it revolves around the GROUND ZERO MOSQUE" (GZM).
Allow me to present a cohesive point of view:

1. ISLAM IS NOT A PEACEFUL RELIGION:

The Quran unequivocably states that anyone who is not a muslim is an INFIDEL. This means that any muislim you may run into or who you may befriend who appears to be friendly and "OK" ...is not. Because when push comes to shove, they will turn on you on a dime when it comes to observing the Quran. That's right ..... they will lead you to believe that they are your friends but they are not. This is how they are instructed to behave in the Quran (It's how they behave toward American workers in Saudi Arabia as well as in the US) ... until they accomplish their objective of total rule. And the fact of the matter is that the Islamic terrorists arfe controlling the Islam population....How is it that so called "moderate muslims" have still not come forward to denounce the actions of these extremists. IT'S BECAUSE DEEP DOWN THEY ARE IN AGREEMENT WITH THEM

2. MODERATE MUSLIMS DO NOT EXIST:

This leads to the fact that moderate muslims do not exist. They may say they are but they are not. Imam Rauf of ground zero mosque fame, recently said that the controversy over the (GZM) was political due to the upcoming November elections....failing to acknowledge that the GZM is deeply offensive to most of us who continue to mourn the deaths of innocent victims of the 9/11 attack.
They cry out if anyone publishes a cartoon of Mohammed as being deeply offensive yet they do not factor in how offensive this mosque is to Americans.

Not only that this Imam states that:
* America caused 9/11
* Osama bid Laden is American made
* that they will not consider an alternative site for their mosque

HOW PEACE LOVING AND SENSITIVE TO AMERICANS IS THAT !!!!!!! AND OBAMA IS USING HIM TO "MODERATE WITH THE RADICALS ON OUR BEHALF" HOW CRAZY IS THAT

3. THE GZM WILL NEVER BE BUILT:

That's right....you heard it on TV....the construction union workers will not build that mosque. PERIOD....lET'S SEE WHAT Obam has to say about that.

4. OBAMA IS A MUSLIM:

If you accept the notion that Obama is a Muslim, you will then understand every action he has taken on behalf of the muslims here and abroad:

* The deep bow he made to the Saudi Sheik
* Directing the head of NASA to emphasize how much muslims have contributed
to Math and how valued they are...and may I point out that NASA has
absolutely nothing to do with the Islamic population
* Refusing to label Islamic terrorists as Islamic Terrorists
* Playing down the massacre of 13 American soldiers on an army base by
referring to it as a lone incident not having anything to do with the
Islamic Extremists.
* AND HIS STAND ON THE GROUND ZERO MOSQUE.

5. OBAMA IS NOT AN AMERICAN BORN CITIZEN:

NOT TO MENTION THAT WE HAVE STILL NOT SEEN HIS LONG FORM BIRTH CERTIFICATE......when asked about that recently Obama replied......" WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO... CARRY IT AROUND IN MY COAT POCKET ALL THE TIME" ???

NO!!!!!! JUST SHOW IT ONCE AND WE'LL ALL SHUT UP ABOUT IT.

And why has he spent over $1 million to keep under wraps his birth certificate and his school records....One can only conclude that he is indeed not an American Citizen.

And imagine that when we finally find out that he is not an Amertican born citizen, how will all of you feel.......TAKEN, BAMBOOZLED, F____D OVER ???

My Rant is almost over....................

6. CONGRESS:

When was the last time any private business or government program signed off on a contract without knowing what was in that contract. NEVER !!!

SO WHY IN THE HELL ARE WE LETTING NANCY PELOSI TELLING HER MINIONS THAT WE HAVE TO PASS THIS BILL IN ORDER TO FIND OUT WHAT'S IN IT!!!

HOW PREPOSTEROUS IS THIS ??????

WE HAVE GOT TO GET A NEW CONGRESS IN THIS NOVEMBER AND THEN PASS SOME TERM LIMIT LEGISLATION TO PREVENT ALL THOSE ARROGANT BASTARDS FROM BECOMING ARROGANT BASTARDS.

THAT'S WHAT I HAVE TO SAY FOR NOW.......

WHY NOW.......

BECAUSE I HAVE A THREE YEAR OLD AND TWO-MONTH OLD GRANDSON AND I WANT THEM TO SEE AND KNOW AND GROW UP IN THE AMERICA I GREW UP IN. GOD KNOWS AND SO DO SOME OF YOU THAT OBAMA IS DOING EVERYTHING HE CAN TO CHANGE THIS GREAT NATION TO ONE THAT IS NOT SO GREAT AND MEDIOCRE........WE CANNOT LET HIM DO THIS.....IT'S UP TO THE PEOPLE ...AND THEY DO NOT WANT THIS......
....WE CANNOT ALLOW A FOREIGN BORN MUSLIM PRESIDENT TO CHANGE OUR COUNTRY....

BO Update and More

BO Update:

Thirteen of our military men and women were slaughtered for no reason late last week...THE SECOND LARGEST ATTACK ON THE UNITED STATES (ON A MILITARY BASE) IN THE HISTORY OF THE UNITED STATES.
Shortly thereafter Obama attended a Native American Conference to address the issues Native Americans are facing. In his opening remarks he first thanked the Dept of Interior for putting this conference together on such short notice and then gave a shout out to a Doctor Joe Medicine Crow...so 2 minutes into his speech...he then says (paraphrase) you must have all heard by now about the shootings in Ft Hood.
You would think as Commander in Chief and for all intents and purposes the boss of those who were killed....that this would have been the first thing to come out of his mouth, offering condolences to the families and stating in no uncertain terms that this attack will be seriously looked into and that steps will be taken to make sure this never happens again. BUT NOT OBAMA..........what he did was downplay this terrorist attack to make sure there is no backlash from the muslim community. WELL I SAY SCREW THE BACKLASH AND SEND A MESAGE TO EVERYONE LISTENING THAT THIS WILL NOT BE TOLERATED AND WE WILL DO EVERYTHING IN OUR POWER TO MAKE SURE ANOTHER TERRORIST ATTACK DOES NOT TAKE PLACE....ESPECIALLY ON ANY US MILITARY BASE.
I just cannot imagine what he would have done if he were president during the 9/11 attack.

Next: (1) Breaking news is that the White House has information about the Islamist attacker but will not release it....what's that all about.
(2) This Islamist terrorist is now conscious and has already lawyered up.
(3) The FBI has known for a year that this Islamist terrorist has been in contact with Al Queida
(4) This Islamist terrorist has said on many occasions that Islam comes first and the US second.......well what the hell is he doing in the military to begin with.
(5) Why was this person promoted, why was he providing phyco therapy to other soldiers when the military command and the FBI were aware of all the red flags attached to this person. I hope Joe Lieberman goes forward with an investigation that will answer all these questions and put in
checks and balances in the military to make sure it never happens again.


Freedom of Speech:

If you think our freedom of speech isn't in peril...check out the attached Glenn Beck video and then try to convince yourself that everything is hunky-dory. It's not and we all need to wake up to the reality of what's going on in this country......otherwise pretty soon we'll all be saying ......
How did we get to this point....what happened......we're screwed!!!!

Transparency:

I seem to remember that Barak Obama Promised transparency and Bi Partisanship in his administration. Well what happened with the congressional Health care bill that was created behind closed doors with only the Democrats. And today in the Senate when Bill Clinton met only with Democrats about the health care bill BEHIND CLOSED DOORS.
OBAMA SET US UP WITH HIS LIES DURING HIS CAMPAIGN JUST TO GET ELECTED AND NOW WE ARE SUFFERING AS A RESULT OF THEM. After all he was elected and he can now do whatever he wants despite his campaign promises....Right???


Pelosi's Healthcare Bill:

I'll bet you didn't know that buried in her bill that was passed last Saturday are fines and punishments if people choose not to obtain healthcare for themselves. That's right.
If you choose not to obtain healthcare you can be fined up to $25,000.
And if you adamantly decide to definitely not obtain health care insurance the fine goes up to $250,000 and 12 years in jail.......DID YOU EVER.........What happened to our freedom to decide for ourselves what's best for us.........


Movie Reviews

Men Who Stare at Goats -
This film has a similar type of humor as "Oh Brother , Where art Thou". I thought this was a funny film.....as usual Clooney was great and the film very enjoyable. Who would have thunk that the army, at one time, had a program in place to develop psychic powers in a group of hand picked men to undermine the enemy without firing a shot. Well for the most part it didn't succeed but the effort was made. Hence the film. I thought the best scene was the freeing of the goats...an absurdity that was laughable. If you liked the humor in "Oh Brother"....you will like this film......... 3 Seeds

Paranormal -
Shot with a hand held camera....similar to Blair Witch....this film starts off slow but actually builds to a crescendo that has everyone sitting on the edge of his/her seat. About an evil spirit who is stalking a young woman and won't let go no matter where she goes. The acting is fair to good with two unknowns ...but they do pull it off. If you like the paranormal genre....go see this film
It was produced for $11,000 and grossed $30million the first weekend.....they did something right.....2 1/2 Seeds

Food:

If you like Zuccini you're gonna love this simple, quick recipe for fried Zuccini that is both healthful and delicious. Takes fifteen minutes to make and 2 zuccini will provide leftovers for another meal. Take a look and you decide:
Recipe: - 2 1/2 cups flour; 2 cups milk; 2 eggs. Mix ingredients together to form a batter. Use
salt and pepper to taste.
- 1/4 inch of olive oil in frying pan and heat medium to high.
- slice zuccini lengthwise into strips....dip into batter and fry.
That's it....all of it....so just sit back and enjoy it

Hold 'em Accountable

Hi all....I'm back after a long hiatus......the summer... and it feels good to be back.

Remember the Republican Congressman who was emailing one of his male pages and attempting to engage this person in some sort of sexual relationship. The papers exploded with this one charging the congressman with sexual harassment and hounding him in the media until he resigned.

WELL, WHERE ARE THOSE VERY SAME VOICES WHEN IT CAME TO DAVID LETTERMAN.....WHO ADMITTED ON AIR THAT HE HAD SEXUAL RELATIONSHIPS WITH MANY WOMEN WHILE HOSTING THE LETTERMAN SHOW.

Whoa! you say....it's not the same thing.......OH YES IT IS....This man has power to hire and fire and if he is /has had sexual relationships , while being married, at his workplace...you bet your damn tootie it is a large case of sexual harassment. Any one of those women (willing participants, I'm sure) would be under the pressure of making him happy for fear of losing her job.....THAT'S A GIVEN.....So I ask you...where the hell are the sexual harassment law suits.......and why isn't he being taken to task for it......either by the media, his employees or those big mouths that got that congressman to resign.....WHERE ARE THEY?????????

HEALTH CARE:

All you have to do is ask yourself some fundamental questions...a nd be honest with your answers:

1. If only 20 million Americans truly need health insurance, why is the democratic party, led by

Obama desperately seeking to overhaul the entire health care industry? A: Because the

radical left has been yearning for this for the past 4 decades and now that they have a far left

Marxist as President they are pushing it through as hard and as fast as they can.
2. If Obama is seeking a real competitive environment for the health insurance industry, why

won't he permit insurance companies to cut across state lines and let the consumer pick the

cheapest one for himself. This would be the surest way to increase competition. A: If the state

barriers were lifted the rates would come down drastically and the resason Obama won't do

this is because it will take the government out of the equation...and that is not what he wants.

He WANTS CONTROL OF 16% OF THE BUDET THAT IS REPRESENTED BY THE

HEALTH CARE INDUSTRY
3. In addition, why won't Obama and the Dems also put forth a proposal for tort reform? A: The

ABA has been a long time supporter of the Democratic party and in particular Barak Obama

when he ran for office. Obama doesn't want to upset this apple cart b ecause by passing tort

reform, Obama will most likely lose their support....and he doesn't want to lose their money.
4. Why is the Democratic party led by Obama insistent on a one-payer option/a government

sponsored health care system. A: If a one-payer option is enacted, the government will then

be able to offer health insurance that is lower than any other Private sector insurance

company. People will flock to the government plan in order to pay less for their insurance and

ultimately, the government will put the insurance industry out of business. This will give the

government the power over all of us, and be able to determine a set of criteria as to who can

be treated and those who will be turned away in addiktion to the control over 16% of the

Budget.

Finally the most critical question of all is: Where in the Constitution does it give the President or Congress the authority to impose a health care system on the American People. This same question can be applied to the issue of dictating salaries to private industry..... THIS IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN BY THE CONSTITUTION. We live and die by our constitution and so far, the Congress and this President are not upholding it as they were sworn to do when they were elected.........Somebody please tell me !!!!!!!!!

Lastly......there has been a lot of talk about the company Barak Obama is keeping ...with outside agencies as well as with the Czars he has appointed to advise AND act for him.

Did you know that ACORN(election riggers), SEIU (union control), THE APOLLO GROUP, TIDES( founded by George Soros) are all interconnected through the people running these organizations beginning with Bill Ayers up to and including Van Jones........all of whom had a hand in developing and witing the stimulus program. Here's what I want you to do....take a little time out of your leisure hours and view the attached Glenn Beck program and then tell me what you really think......Ann...you go for it Girl

Stimulus Package - A license to steal

Whenever there is a terrible disaster you will find looters stealing from the stores...tv sets, steroes, CD players appliances and more....whatever they can get their hands on. Well folks, that's exactly what Congress and the Senate are doing with this so -called stimulus package. They are looting the U.S. Treasury with everything they always wanted to do. A package that will cost more than a TRILLION DOLLARS when you add in the interest. AND just 12 cents on the dollar is devoted to stimulating the economy.
In otherwise normal circumstances a bill containing this much pork would never, ever be passed. But in this present state of the economy, the Democrats are taking advantage of the fear that is gripping Americans...whether they will have a job or not, able to meet their mortgage payment, ride out this downturn and attempting to convince us that the bigger the package...the more it costs ...will help this economy. NOTHING COULD BE FURTHER FROM THE TRUTH.
If you looked at the pork in this bill...refurbishing government buildings in Washington, research on the use of contraceptives or some such nonsense...would do nothing for the economy except push us further in debt.
You've seen the approval rating of the President decline from the 80% mark to the 50% range ... in just two weeks...just as we are seeing the support for this bill drop fro 64% to now only 34% ... because the closer this bill is scrutinized the more out of the ball park it is. That's why they are putting pressure to pass this quickly. Fear tactics at its worst. When it takes months approve the Federal Budget, why isn't there more time to hash out this bill especially the size of it and the impact it's going to have on our children and our children's children.
THIS IS NOT THE AMERICAN WAY. THIS IS NOT THE CHANGE WE WERE LOOKING FORWARD TO. WE ARE BEING RAILROADED BY A CONGRESS THAT IS LOOTING THE U.S. TREASURY WITHOUT REGARD AS TO WHAT IS THE MORALLY RIGHT THING TO DO FOR THIS COUNTRY.
The President, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and all the Democrats have deceived us into thinking that if this bill is not passed now the economy will never recuperate.
Remember the first $700 billion bill that needed to be passed in a week or the economy will take a nose dive....they passed the bill and the economy still took a nose dive. And now they can't account for $ 78 Billion of that bill....a wasted $78 Billion.
WELL GIVE ME A BREAK !!!!!!
I am soooo angry and frustrated that the Democrats may pull this off. They have made economic mistake after economic mistake beginning with President Roosevelt...with no positive results.
My father always said that it was the war that pulled us out of the depression...not anything else Roosevelt did. And now the truth is finally surfacing.
And what do you think the Democrats want to do...THE SAME THING...Go Figure...nevermind...don't bother

THE ONLY THING THAT WILL TURN THIS THING AROUND IS TO CONTACT YOUR STATE AND FEDERAL SENATORS AND TELL THEM YOU WILL NOT VOTE FOR THEM IN THE NEXT ELECTION IF THEY GO ALONG WITH THIS BILL...WE'VE GOTTA DO IT

Or the Fact of the Matter is we will all go down together.
